Dr. Johnson maintains his current knowledge and certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).

NEW TECHNIQUES:

1.) In 1982, the first to perform the reinjection of fat cells to aid in body contouring.
2.) Developed a new technique of breast reduction to eliminate extensive scarring.
3.) Developed a new procedure of endoscopic augmentation mammoplasty.
4.) Developed a new procedure of endoscopic abdominoplasty.
5.) Developed new approach through the axilla for breast reduction and/or mastopexy to avoid scars on the breast.

OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Developed or perfected and put into use in surgery approximately
twenty new instruments and surgical techniques designed to improve or enhance the surgeon’s final result.

Founder T.O.P.S. Texas Outpatient Surgery and leader in T.O.P.S.
becoming a fully certified freestanding surgery center now certified by JCAH as a surgical specialty hospital (with 20 beds and 7 operating rooms) and performing over 600 outpatient procedures per month.

First plastic surgeon in Houston to design and build an outpatient
surgery center to deliver low cost care to outpatients.

Became the first Houston plastic surgeon to successfully reattach
an amputated hand utilizing microvascular surgery techniques in1976.

Holds a commercial fixed wing and rotary wing (helicopter) pilots
license.
