The endoscopic assisted Mastopexy (Breast Lift).

For the woman who has droopy breasts, the classical methods of Plastic Surgeons to treat her would leave extensive scars around the nipple and on other parts of the breasts. Usually the surgical scars are of a "keyhole anchor" shape.

Most Plastic Surgeons cannot describe to you any other technique to do the surgery to limit scars, or if they have heard of another technique, they do not know how or do not have any experience in doing a scarless technique of breast lift.

Dr. Johnson has invented such a new technique. There are NO SCARS on the breasts. An incision is made in the axilla (armpit) from which the breast lift is accomplished.

Dr. Johnson was awarded U.S. Patent 5,658,328 Endoscopic assisted mastopexy for this procedure. Here is how the procedure is done:

Note that there is a difference in the position of the nipple with the patient in the standing and reclining positions.

The position of the nipple is determined using fixed points on the patient's skeleton. And a surgical marker is used to mark the patient as shown.

A small puncture wound is made in the crease of the breast and fluid is infiltrated to minimize bleeding during the creation of the pocket.

An incision is created in the armpit and the incision is used to insert instruments in order to separate the breast tissue from the chest muscle. The breast tissue is also dissected away from the skin to leave a thin skin flap.

A pie-shaped section of breast tissue is then excised, in accordance with the determination of amount needed to be removed during the pre-operative marking.

The breast tissue flaps are then brought together as shown above and sutured.

The breast is then lifted and sutured into place. The incisions are closed and the patient is then placed in an appropriate dressing and garment.
