The endoscopic assisted Mastopexy(Breast Lift) with Augmentation:

For the woman who has droopy breasts, the classical methods of Plastic Surgeons to treat her would leave extensive scars around the nipple and on other parts of the breasts. Usually the surgical scars are of a "keyhole anchor" shape.

Most Plastic Surgeons cannot describe to you any other technique to do the surgery to limit scars, or if they have heard of another technique, they do not know how or do not have any experience in doing a scarless technique of breast lift.

Dr. Johnson has invented such a new technique. There are NO SCARS on the breasts. An incision is made in the axilla (armpit) from which the breast lift is accomplished. If a woman has also lost volume in her breasts, an augmentation can be performed at the same time. The augmentation is accomplished through the belly-button in the same method described for the Endoscopic Assisted Transumbilical Augmentation Mammoplasty.

Dr. Johnson was awarded U.S. Patent 5,658,328 Endoscopic assisted mastopexy for this procedure. Here is how the procedure is done:

Note that there is a difference in the position of the nipple with the patient in the standing and reclining positions.

The position of the nipple is determined using fixed points on the patient's skeleton. And a surgical marker is used to mark the patient as shown.

A small puncture wound is made in the crease of the breast and fluid is infiltrated to minimize bleeding during the creation of the pocket.

Next, a tunnel is created between the muscle and overlying tissue, from the belly button to a point beneath each breast.

A tissue expander is then placed beneath each breast and a fluid is pumped into each expander in order to create the pocket in which the implant will be placed.

An incision is then made in the armpit and a path is dissected away to meet the pocket created previously. Sutures are placed in location\s as shown to accomplish the lift.

The implant is then inserted into the pocket through the incision made in the armpit.

The implant is filled and the fill tube is removed, leaving the full implant in the pocket.

The incisions are then closed and the patient is placed in a post-surgical compression garment. The illustration above shows the difference in nipple position before and after the procedure.
